About

Your medicine's passport

Pillport helps people find the right medicine when they cross a border. Travellers, expats and international students often know a medicine only by its home brand name. Pharmacies abroad sell the same active ingredient under different names, strengths and salts. Pillport links them through the active ingredient and its WHO ATC code.

The second tool, the PK simulator, helps pharmacy and medical students see how doses rise, peak and clear, using the same one-compartment equations taught in pharmacokinetics courses.

Methodology

  • Every medicine is identified by its active ingredient and ATC code, never by brand name alone.
  • Brand names are listed per country and checked against that country's medicines regulator.
  • A brand is marked verified only when a regulator source URL is recorded, with the date of the check.
  • Unverified brands are clearly labelled "Pending verification".
